I wished I had been able to do that when my kids a were young and at home. But then we did not have the internet, I was not an artist painting and making some spending money on that or a part time photographer doing weddings and senior class pics. Would have been nice. Congrats on a job well done.

Gina, I just found your blog recently and love it. Also ordered the cutest pillow from you and thank you for that, too. I know you are busy running a business with your blog because I am on here all the time just doing my blog and figuring out the next post. Only been at it almost four weeks, but it seems like it has been much longer. Great friendly people in blog land and I love it. Have a great weekend!…..Kim

I’m so glad that you have been able to accomplish a dream. I too work full-time outside our home but I am fortunate to be home each day by 3pm and have summers off. Even with my schedule, getting a single post together can take an hour or more, and that doesn’t include the project time. From this comparison I can see how you must spend many hours each day to keep your great blog and business going.

I’m trying to decide in which direction to go to make a little extra cash and it encourages me to know that with some determination it can happen. Thanks for your great blog.

I remember when you first announced you were quitting your job and would be working at home by blogging. I told all my friends and family who think I’m crazy for working towards that goal.

I’ve been working at home for the last five years as a freelance graphic designer. When work got in the way of my blogging time, I would get so frustrated. Reading your blog gave me the inspiration to work towards the same thing. I’m still in the planning stage, but I hope to be launching my new site in a few months.

    Thanks for the inspiration!

So great that you could make it work! But I can only imagine how much WORK it still is – juggling being a FT mama + FT blogger/etsian, etc. You’re a good juggler & your results are stunning! The little blue birds on this post LITERALLY took my breath away. Lovely!

I’d dream to follow suit – right now I’m still in the juggling mode of balancing work & trying to squeeze blog stuff in without my little family feeling the diversion!

I love that you can do that! I am and have always been a stay at home Mama. Unfortunately I lack the serious skilz you have… in all areas, for making money at home. We have sacrificed a lot for me to do this job. Mostly it has been worth it..my kids are great. My husband is a hard worker and is a big supporter of stay at home Mamas. The down side, for me, is experiencing independence and knowledge in some areas of life.

Anyway, all this just to say that you’re doing something right girl! You could teach me a few things.

I didn’t realize your “Shabby Chic Cottage” Blog was about a year old – I found you shortly after I stumbled on another blog about a year ago – I am a true blog addict now, in fact on Monday this week I created my own blog mostly to keep track of all my favorite things I find in blogland – I too started a Etsy Store and I am barely able to fill my orders for headbands as I am trapped 8-5 at work.

I am SO happy for you ! Congrats ! You really do an amazing job here and I LOVE your Etsy Store and Blog
